Boker History Knife & Tool German scout knife. The fixed knife was introduced to the Hitler Youth and the Jungvolk in the summer of 1933, but was not a mandatory part of the uniform. The basic shape of the knife was based on the military bayonets with a metal sheath, which could be worn on the belt. After the Second World War, the manufacturers continued to use the existing production facilities and produced the knife for scouts. For more than 100 years, the mission of the scout movement founded by the British General Robert Baden-Powell has been to make a good person a better person. Young people of all backgrounds and religions learn with and from each other in order to mature mentally, physically and socially. During various activities such as camps or joint excursions, the aim is to encourage responsible interaction within the group and to strengthen their own personality. Living with nature is an elementary part of scout life, which always provides both great and small insights. To reveal the last secrets of nature, History Knife & Tool presents the lovingly recreated German Scout Knife as a tribute to all scouts. The basic shape of the renowned knife is reminiscent of a military bayonet, which can be worn comfortably on the belt with the help of the simple metal sheath. The modern replica from HKT is based on authentic originals and official documents and combines the traditional design with high-quality materials. The sturdy blade of the driving knife is made from satin-finished 440A and is equipped with a practical back saw. The metal handle is inlaid with black POM, always lies securely in the hand even when wet thanks to the fine texturing and has a practical engraving area. The characteristic parry element prevents unintentional slipping on the blade and thus increases the work safety of young adventurers. Total length: 24.2 cmBlade length: 14.0 cmWeight: 145 gBlade thickness: 5.0 mmBlade material: 440AHandle material: POMLock: Fixed POM or polyacetal is a widely used engineering plastic that is hard, rigid and durable. It is hygienic and easy to clean and can be cleaned in the dishwasher as it does not absorb water and is highly resistant to chemicals
