The Faxon Duty Series 10.5" SOCOM Profile 5.56 NATO barrel blends compact handling with improved dwell and gas timing from a carbine-length system. Machined from certified 4150 CMV, button-rifled with a 1:8 twist, and finished inside and out with durable black nitride, this 10.5" SOCOM barrel is built for reliability, heat resistance, and consistent accuracy in duty and tactical carbines. Key Benefits: Optimized carbine length: 10.5" gives better dwell and gas timing compared to shorter pistol-length barrels for smoother, more reliable cycling.Duty-grade construction: 4150 CMV steel plus nitride finish for long life under hard use and corrosion resistance.Accuracy-focused details: Fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, and finished with an 11° target crown for repeatable performance.Universal muzzle compatibility: 1/2-28 threading accepts common brakes, compensators, and direct-thread suppressor adapters.Robust gas compatibility: Carbine-length gas and .750" gas block journal support reliable operation across ammunition types.Strict quality control: Magnetic particle inspected, individually headspace-checked with hardened gauges. The SOCOM profile increases thermal mass for better heat handling and longevity, while a carbine-length gas system offers improved dwell and more forgiving gas timing than shorter systems — translating to smoother function and reduced cyclic harshness in many setups. Installation & Compatibility: Compatible with standard AR-15 Mil-spec upper receivers and bolts using the M4 barrel extension.Use a .750" gas block (set-screw or clamp-on) on the 1.9" journal.Confirm muzzle device/suppressor compatibility with 1/2-28 threading. Always verify suppressor caliber rating. For optimal reliability, tune buffer/spring and gas settings to your specific ammunition and muzzle device.
