The Faxon Duty Series 14.5" SOCOM Profile 5.56 NATO barrel delivers the perfect mix of military-grade durability and precision machining for modern AR-15 builds. Its mid-length gas system smooths recoil and cycling, while the heavier SOCOM contour resists heat buildup under sustained fire — making it ideal for both professional duty and hard-use training. Key Benefits: True SOCOM contour: Government-style weight for heat control and stability during rapid strings of fire.Mid-length gas system: Reduces recoil and gas pressure for smoother cycling and longer component life.Precision manufacturing: Fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, and magnetic particle inspected for flawless bore and chamber integrity.Durable finish: Inside and out black nitride treatment for corrosion resistance and easy maintenance.High-quality steel: Machined from certified 4150 CMV Mil-Spec bar stock for long service life. Faxon’s version improves on the classic design with precision machining, optimized weight distribution, and modern mid-length gas timing. It offers outstanding heat control, durability, and accuracy — without the excessive weight of traditional heavy barrels. Why Choose Faxon Duty Series: From certified 4150 CMV bar stock to final inspection, each Faxon Duty Series barrel is manufactured and quality-checked in-house. The SOCOM profile increases thermal mass for better heat handling and longevity, while a carbine-length gas system offers improved dwell and more forgiving gas timing than shorter systems — translating to smoother function and reduced cyclic harshness in many setups. Overview: The Faxon Duty Series 14.5" SOCOM Profile 5.56 NATO barrel is engineered for shooters who demand battle-proven reliability and precision performance. The SOCOM contour provides added rigidity for heat management and consistency, while the mid-length gas system smooths recoil and reduces component wear — especially when running a suppressor.Starting with certified 4150 CMV steel, Faxon uses button rifling and full stress relief to ensure straightness and stability. Each barrel is air-gauge tested, magnetic particle inspected, and finished inside and out with black nitride for corrosion resistance and long service life. The 11° target crown and precision headspace verification ensure repeatable accuracy from shot to shot. Installation & Compatibility: Compatible with standard AR-15 Mil-spec upper receivers and bolts using the M4 barrel extension.Use a .750" gas block (set-screw or clamp-on) on the 1.9" journal.Confirm muzzle device/suppressor compatibility with 1/2-28 threading. Always verify suppressor caliber rating. For optimal reliability, tune buffer/spring and gas settings to your specific ammunition and muzzle device.
